OCALA, FLA., HOME TO NEWEST MIMIS CAFE

Upscale casual restaurant opens in mid-March

TUSTIN, Calif. – Mimis Cafe, a collection of upscale casual dining restaurants, opened an Ocala location in mid-March at 4414 Southwest College Road, in the new Dillard’s shopping center. The new restaurant, which marks the eleventh Mimis Cafe in Florida, will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Managing Partner Daniel Dittelberger welcomes the community to enjoy the restaurant’s more than 100 breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes, which are homemade daily and served in generous portions at reasonable prices.

Guests are often drawn to Mimis Cafe because of its European-style cottage exterior. Once inside, they are offered a full breakfast, lunch or dinner menu. “Home-cooked meals are what Mimis Cafe is known for, with something deliciously flavorful for everyone, customized to each guest’s specifications. Not only are many items made from scratch in the restaurant, they are created using only the freshest ingredients,” said Tim Hayes, local Mimis Cafe Market Partner.

Comfort food classics are staples at Mimis Cafe with items such as the restaurant’s signature Chicken Pot Pie, Mimis Pot Roast and Slow Roasted Turkey Breast, which are baked fresh throughout the day. To capture harvests at their peak, Mimis Cafe also regularly provides seasonal features. From Feb. 21 through May 21, a handful of dishes to appease seafood lovers will be available. These flavorful items include Shrimp, Artichoke & Feta Omelette, Salmon “Nicoise” Salad and Seafood Fettuccine.

Guests seeking lighter fare have options such as the Soup & Petite Salad with six salads and three signature, homemade soups to choose from, which are located on the Small Bites portion of the menu, or full salads such as the Bleu Cheese & Walnut Salad or Mimis Chopped Cobb Salad. Sandwich selections include Albacore & Avocado and the French Quarter burger, to name a few. As a family-friendly restaurant, children get special attention at Mimis Cafe. An affordable, all-inclusive Kid’s Meal for children under age 12 includes an entrée, side dish, beverage and dessert with healthy-choice options.

Seafood, pasta and steaks are Mimis Cafe favorites with popular items such as Cajun Blackened Salmon, Pasta Jambalaya and pan seared, 12 oz. Top Sirloin, among others. The restaurant offers guests a full bar touting wine, beer and cocktails such as The ABSOLUT Magnificent Mary, Fresh Squeezed Margaritas and Mimitinis. Bountiful desserts are also available with Mimi’s Bread Pudding, Bananas Foster Mud Pie and more on the menu.

Mimis Cafe has a long history of community involvement in Florida. To initiate philanthropic support in Ocala, the new restaurant has supplied 1,300 Certificates of Achievement, redeemable for a complimentary Kid’s Meal, to College Park Elementary School and Saddlewood Elementary School. Many teachers from these local schools will receive a Certificate of Appreciation for a complimentary specialty coffee and dessert as well.
