MIMIS CAFE OPENS RESTAURANT IN HEART OF THE BAY

To celebrate, more than 1,000 Hayward students receive free kid’s meal

TUSTIN, Calif. – On April 20th at 4:00 p.m., Mimis Cafe will open in Hayward, Calif. at 24542 Hesperian Boulevard. For nearly 11 years, the collection of upscale family dining restaurants has been serving comfort food classics in the Bay Area, with existing locations in San Jose, San Mateo, Dublin, Fairfield, Antioch, Concord and Gilroy – the new location marks the first Mimis Cafe in the Heart of the Bay. General Manager Burke Spencer welcomes residents to dine at the 113th Mimis Cafe, which provides more than 100 breakfast, lunch and dinner options seven days a week between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Mimis Cafe strives to enrich the local communities it serves by offering extraordinary examples of philanthropic spirit. To celebrate the grand opening, all children from Southgate Elementary School and Palma Ceia Elementary School will receive a certificate for a free kid’s meal. Many teachers from the local schools will also receive a complimentary bountiful dessert and specialty coffee to honor their dedication and commitment to youth. Each year, Mimis Cafe awards more than 2 million certificates to students and teachers across the nation.

“As a new member of the Hayward community, we are overjoyed to reward local children and teachers who have demonstrated excellence both inside and outside the classroom,” said Sean Cashman, local Mimis Cafe Market Partner. “Our restaurant plans to partner with additional local schools in the near future to show our continued support and encouragement.”

To make mealtime more enjoyable for families, Mimis Cafe recently launched a new kid’s menu, dubbed the “Gazette.” The menu features healthy-choice options and fun activities for children ages 12 and under. Kid-friendly meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner range from $3.99 to $4.59 and include an entrée, side dish, beverage and dessert.

A new line-up of Seasonal Features is available now through May 2 at all Mimis Cafe locations. Breakfast specials include the Shrimp, Artichoke & Feta Omelette and Banana Chocolate Chip Pancake Breakfast. Six delectable lunch and dinner dishes include a Seafood Appetizer Combo, Pan Seared Scallops, Seafood Sampler, Tender Pork Shank, Center Cut Swordfish and Mahi-Mahi. A special muffin, Banana Chocolate Chip, is also available.

Over the last 28 years, more than 100 Mimis Cafe restaurants have opened – and not a single one has ever closed. All restaurants are company-owned, not franchised, so growth opportunities are available at all levels. The Hayward restaurant expects to employ approximately 125 teammates.
