MIMIS CAFE OFFERS COMFORT FOODS WITH A TWIST

TUSTIN, Calif. Mimis Cafe, a collection of upscale family dining restaurants, introduces ten new menu items on Dec. 6 to showcase savory comforting fare with a twist. In additional to traditional comfort foods offered at Mimis Cafe, guests can enjoy spiced up specials such as the Chicken Chorizo & Egg Enchiladas for breakfast, a zesty Black Bean & Chicken Chorizo Dip appetizer, and a Carne Asada Entrée Salad for lunch or dinner. These items and more will be available at more than 122 Mimis Cafe locations nationwide until Feb. 21.

Head Chef Adam Baird explains, "I’ve traveled throughout the world tasting and creating dishes, but nothing is comparable to the bold flavors of Southwestern cuisine. To share these tastes with our guests, I’ve experimented with some of the cooking methods and spices that this region is famous for and brought them back to Mimis Cafe."

Ranging from $4.99 to $14.99, following are descriptions of Mimis Cafe's unique take on a wintertime menu:

Breakfast

1. Banana Chocolate Chip Pancake Breakfast: A stack of delicious banana chocolate chip pancakes served with two eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage.

2. Chicken Chorizo & Egg Enchiladas: Two enchiladas stuffed with scrambled eggs, lean chicken chorizo, green chiles, red onions and cilantro. Topped with tomatillo sauce, cheddar & jack cheeses, tomatoes and fresh guacamole. Served with black beans, salsa and fresh squeezed juice.

3. Seasonal Muffin: Banana Chocolate Chip.

Lunch/Dinner

4. Black Bean & Chicken Chorizo Dip: A zesty southwestern blend of black beans, chicken chorizo, green chiles, onions, cilantro, cheddar & jack cheeses, tomatoes and guacamole. Served with golden fried corn tortilla chips.

5. Broiled Petite Filet Mignon: A 5 oz. filet broiled to order with basil pesto butter and grilled fresh asparagus. Served with baby greens and tomatoes tossed in balsamic vinaigrette.

6. Carne Asada Entrée Salad: Zesty spice-rubbed steak, diced tomatoes, corn, feta cheese, grilled peppers and red onions tossed in a creamy cilantro dressing. Served over iceberg lettuce and topped with crispy tortilla strips & fresh avocado. Served with a freshly baked muffin.

7. Tender Pork Shank: Available after 4 p.m. Pork shank braised with herbs ‘til falling off the bone and topped with a creole mustard sauce. Served with grilled fresh asparagus and macaroni & cheese.

8. Pan Seared Scallops & Salmon Medley with Ratatouille Ravioli: Pan seared jumbo scallops and fresh salmon served atop ratatouille ravioli tossed in artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and tomato cream sauce.

9. Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi: Available crusted with macadamia nuts or simply grilled, with citrus, artichoke & crab sauce. Served with fresh vegetables and a choice of baby bakers or mashed potatoes.

Dessert

10. Mimis S’mores: Layers of toasted marshmallow cream, chocolate crunch and a cinnamon graham crust. Served warm and topped with caramel & chocolate sauces.
